Three’s a Charm for AND Digital in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies 2019 (1)

Battersea Evolution was a hub of activity and celebration last night, with companies across the UK coming together to find out where they ranked in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2019. We were no exception, as a team of ANDis from across the business waited with bated breath to find out where AND Digital would rank.

It proved to be a night of considerable success for the company, and we’re delighted to announce that AND Digital is now – officially – ranked 15th overall as one of the best companies to work for in the UK. And, to really top things off, we also received the special award for learning and development – the second time we have scooped this recognition.

The Learning & Development Special Award recognises an organisation that makes ‘…every effort to enable their employees to gain the skills and knowledge they need, not only to do their jobs well but to achieve their own personal goals as well as the organisation’s.’

As a people-first business on a mission to close the world’s digital skills gap, this is something we truly take pride in at AND Digital. Our bespoke three-week onboarding experience is a case in point for the investment and commitment we make in our teams, setting each new ANDi up for success, right from the get-go.

Why is this year extra special?

After successfully ranking in the best small companies list for the past two years, last night was an extra special occasion for AND Digital. Our company growth has rocketed us into a new larger size category, placing us alongside a diverse range of established companies, including Toyota (GB) and leading restaurant chain, Dishoom.

Having opened our doors in 2014, it feels as though this growth – from four to almost 400 ANDis – has happened in the blink of an eye. Consequently, to be featured in a new size category in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For with older, well-established organisations feels like a very remarkable achievement.

Three is definitely a magic number for AND this year as, not only is this our third year of making the top 100, it’s also the number of stars we achieved in the award’s independent engagement survey – the highest star rating a company can achieve.

Building on our theme of three, we also came third in the list of Best Companies to Work For in the North West – a real testament to the hard work and achievements of our ANDis up North!

What does 3 Stars mean?

Each year as part of the Best Companies to Work For awards, individuals from organisations across the UK are invited to anonymously fill out the ‘Be Heard’ survey, which gives them the opportunity to rate their employer in the following categories:

  • Leadership
  • My Company
  • My Manager
  • Personal Growth
  • My Team
  • Wellbeing
  • Fair Deal
  • Giving Something Back

A 3 Star rating means an organisation is considered ‘Extraordinary’, which means the teams within the organisation are happy, engaged and feel supported.

Paramjit Uppal, AND’s CEO and Founder, said:

“I’m absolutely delighted that not only have we made it into the Top 100 for the third year running, but we’ve also moved up into the bigger companies category. Being a great place to work when you’re a small organisation is one thing. However, with our growth trajectory of 60+% per year, continuing to look after people and make it a brilliant place to work needs to be in the core DNA of who we are. I’m thrilled to see that this, alongside all the hard work done every day by our teams, makes AND Digital a rewarding and remarkable place to work.

"To continue winning the Learning & Development Special Award confirms we really are being true to our purpose and mission to close the world’s digital skills gap. A huge well done to the entire AND team: this wouldn’t have been possible without your continued drive, passion and commitment to AND.”
