What is an Interaction designer?

An interaction designer understands the best way to allow users to interact with a product or service, considering both the overall service and the individual design elements.

What does an interaction designer do:

  • Ability to understand a users needs and how they interact with a product or service

  • Design effective solutions for users of our clients products and services

  • Make design decisions based on evidence (quantitative and qualitative)

  • Understanding of design principles and design standards

  • Be able to communicate your ideas and designs clearly to other team members and stakeholders

  • Ability to work as part of an agile multi disciplinary team

  • Demonstrate an awareness of design principles and human centered design

  • Passion for all things digital, software AND web applications

  • Related professional work experience; ideally one year plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • A minimum of 12 months experience

  • Experience in User experience or interaction design

  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable

  • Knowledge or experience of GDS (government digital services) process or s service manual
