Onboarding at AND Digital

All ANDis – that’s what we call our people – who join AND Digital go through a three-month onboarding journey, headed up by our award-winning Academy team. Currently this onboarding journey will begin with one of two onboarding experiences: AND Bootcamp or ANDuction.



Our ANDuction is a one week experience upskilling our new, more senior ANDis in everything they need to know ahead of getting stuck in to their role. The blended learning approach supports upskilling in our culture and values, core offerings and case studies from different lines of business, preparation and practice for client site as well as developing professional skills through feedback and thinking style (HBDI) workshops. The approach also dives deeper into Agile through a two-day Scrum Master workshop. Overall, our new ANDis going through ANDuction will meet loads of different people and learn plenty of invaluable information in their first week.


All of these ANDis are then given a bespoke onboarding plan to support their first 3 months – this will involve 5 days of further workshops to attend, online courses, lunch with different ANDis across the business, a group mission and presentation, a scrum certification and team socials.



ANDbootcamp has a further two week extension from ANDuction, diving deeper into digital business, Agile delivery techniques and tech. ANDbootcamp launches our associates into the business as well as new squads – therefore also acting as a valuable team building experience. After going through a variety of upskilling, our new ANDis can harness these learnings within a final sprint where they have 5 days to build a digital, innovative product whilst showcasing effective collaboration, all scrum events and high quality work. Finally, similar to ANDuction, the Academy then support all ANDis with any additional onboarding actions to ensure they can successfully kick start their career here.

Final thoughts

Running ANDuctions and ANDbootcamps in parallel has been a new approach for the Academy team. It reflects the culture at AND of always pushing ourselves to try new things, with the aim of delighting both our clients and fellow ANDis. We’re forever changing and continuing to strive for improvements in an ever increasing fast-paced industry so, as we analyse the data, feedback and needs of our clients, business and ANDis, we’ll adapt the course further.
