#GivingTuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a remedy to the pressures of Christmas spending and a call to action to everyone to give something back to the community.
So, how have we at AND Digital given back? We set up our Helping ‘AND committee less than a year ago – and what a difference we have made so far! Here are just some of our giving back stories:
1. We inspired teenage girls to take up a career in tech
We have been supporting the government’s STEM project (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) where we work with a local girl’s school to inspire them to take up a career in technology. After presenting at their morning assembly, we worked with small groups and got them to design apps the agile way!
2. We are helping to keep children safe online
We have designed the widget for the UK Safer Internet Day. This will be used by schools, charities and other organisations to be embedded onto their websites to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
Safer Internet Day 2016 will take place on the 9th February with the theme “Play your part for a better internet!”. Join the conversation at #SID2016
3. We gave our people a digital detox
To help with our wellbeing, we had a whole day free from tech with a Digital Detox Day. 50 squad pros spent the day flying down zip-wires, cycling around woodland and balancing on segways! For the internal team of 20, we gave them the chance to put down their technology and connect with their creative side. Together the group made a collective painted masterpiece through team-work and speed painting!
4. We have given everyone the opportunity to protect themselves from flu
With the onset of the cold weather flu can hit organisations hard, so we gave our people the opportunity to have a free flu jab. This will ensure the dreaded flu virus doesn’t spread the full breadth of the AND Digital towers!Read More From This Author
